Evaluation

I think that my final edit has turned out quite well; it is very different from the original cover which is quite plain and boring. I decided to have a photo of the group on the front cover as I think that it is more welcoming and warm and it makes you feel as though you are getting a little glimpse into the groups’ lives as rock stars. I chose to have a photo of the whole group having a laugh and just chilling out as I think that it shows the group as more grounded and relatable, and that people will be able to see them as normal people and not celebrities.

I thought that as this is a greatest hits album it would be good to include photos of them on stage, so I decided to include that on the back and inside cover. I kept to having a group photo on the front cover as they are a group so it wouldn’t be fair and from my research it shows that on their previous albums on the covers where they have a photo of the group, they are ALL on the cover but they are in serious poses so I wanted to have a more laid back cover, and to show that they are all friends and still after all these years they still enjoy making music together. I put a photo of Jon Bon Jovi on the back cover on stage because he is the lead singer and I think that the particular photo that I chose creates a good effect with the light shining down on him shows him as the star of the show and all of your attention should be on him.

I did one edit in black and white and this then makes the text stand out even more which I think looks really effective especially on the back cover as it then highlights Jon Bon Jovi on the stage and in that light it looks like he is reaching for the stars, which only leaves the question of why as in his fans’ eyes he is all ready a big star. On the inside cover I kept it in colour whilst the rest is in the black and white because I thought it looked effective looking up at him and with lights all around him it makes him look powerful. Throughout the process I tried out a lot of different photos and decided on these three as they are so different and show different things, I thought they create a good contrast as it shows them as a normal people just sitting around relaxing and then there are the photos showing Jon Bon Jovi as powerful which I think is very effective, so overall I am very pleased with my final product.
