Research into 2 Photographers

-          Lauren Dukoff

Lauren Dukoff was born December 31^st 1984 and now lives and works in Los Angeles, she is a well known American photographer, and her photography includes portraits, documentaries, celebrities and musicians. Her father is a commercial director and a still photographer and it is from him that Lauren learned photography after studying photography for a year but then left. She first started off by documenting the musical career of Devendra Banhart. As well as being taught by her father Lauren also had a mentor in music photographer Autumn de Wilde.

Lauren’s work has been shown in the UCLA Hammer Museum in LA, the San Francisco Eleanor Harwood Gallery, REDCAT in LA, Chappe in Paris and The Monster Children Gallery in Sydney, she even has her own show at gallery space, Los Angeles. She also has a book out which is called ‘Family’. Lauren Dukoff has worked with people such as; Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Sting, Katy Perry, Adele, Mary J Blige, Sheryl Crow and many others and her work has been used as Album covers, on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, Vanity Fair, Elle magazine and many others. -          Nick Knight

Nick Knight is very popular in the world of celebrity photography and is known for pushing boundaries.

Nick Knight was born in London in 1958 and graduated in 1982 form Bournemouth and Poole College of art and design. He has published a book called ‘Skinheads’ which won awards for best book cover. In 1990 he was picture editor for i-D magazine with Terry Jones. Nick Knight adapted ring flash photography for grunge cover of British Vogue of Linda Evangelista in 1993.

He has worked with people such as; Yohji Yamamoto, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and led advertising campaigns. And his work has been displayed at many places for example; the Victoria and Albert Museum, Saatchi Gallery, The Photographers Gallery, Hayward Gallery and Tate Modern. He has photographed advertising campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Christian Dior. He has also shot album covers for David Bowie, Paul Weller, George Michael, Massive Attack and Lady Gaga. Here are some examples of his work:
